This site is a compilation of the various research sites and investigators who have publicly exposed Jim Wright and his egregious sins since 2013. It is a WARNING to the body of Christ based on 1 Timothy 5:20:

“But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove before everyone, so that the others may take warning.”

Jim Wright is a self-proclaimed “elder” and self-titled “church planter” and “victim advocate” who is the sole person who created and operates several pseudo “advocate” websites which deceptively set themselves up to be abuse support organizations.

Wright has a long history of spreading lies, defamation, verbal assault, bullying, harassment against women, sexual sins, threats, and emotional and spiritual abuse (including against his ex-wife and estranged adult children: source – article “Jim Wright, Elder?” at CrossRoadJunctionWatch).

Also from CrossRoadJunctionWatch, which is a carefully researched exposé from a credible abuse advocate:

“In short, Jim Wright (Plumbline Faith, a name he established for himself) has a long pattern of entering public sexual abuse cases and then using them as a platform to draw attention to himself and to promote his agenda of personal vendetta, at the expense of real victims.”

Wright’s behavior is predictable. He relentlessly attacks certain people he hates and doesn’t personally know with outrageous smears.

One of his appalling methods is to list the names of real abusers and then add the names of leaders he hates to the list, accusing them of the same things. For instance, he may write a sentence with the names Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and other known abusers then insert the names of credible Christian leaders to the list that he has a personal vendetta against, giving the false impression of guilt by association.

Abusers always attack those who expose them. Hence, anytime a person has exposed Wright’s history of abuse and personal moral failings, he counterattacks them with outlandish lies such as calling them part of a “cult” they are trying to protect, being “mentally ill,” “stalking” his wife, being forced to “flee” the country, and smearing them along with credible Christian leaders they support with ludicrous, fabricated lies. None of these accusations are true. They’ve all been debunked.

The many Christian leaders he has falsely accused have one thing in common. He doesn’t personally know them. He’s never met them or talked to them on the phone. He was offended by them in 2012 because they dismissed his vitriolic objections to their theological views, which he intentionally misrepresented, and he has held a grudge and waged a personal vendetta against them ever since to the point of obsession.

Another pattern. Whenever Wright is found out and people catch on to his hypocrisy, history of abuse, and moral failings, he reinvents himself. First he hid behind a self-created ministry called “Fulcrum.” Then it was “Crossroad Junction” which Facebook shut down (the CRJ page) after his abuse and trolling, then it was “Organic Sower” which Facebook also shut down due to Wright’s relentless attacks and false accusations against others he doesn’t know. At the time of this article, the current name he hides behind is “Plumbline Faith.”

You probably came across this page, which was published in 2013 when Wright began an outrageous smear campaign against many leaders of the house church movement. Yet as recent as November 2023, Jim Wright has continued that campaign now using X (formerly Twitter) under the name “Plumbline Faith.” 

Even today, Wright consistently attacks pastors because he’s been excommunicated multiple times and rebuked by multiple pastors. Some of his former pastors have described him as a malignant narcissist very similar to Warden Norton from the film “Shawshank Redemption,” an abusive religious hypocrite. This is why he joined the so called “house church movement.” After being excommunicated by multiple churches, he started advocating house church/simple church.

However, once the leaders and participants of the house church/organic church movement discovered his history of abuse, they too banned and excommunicated him for his unrepentant sins and abuse in their communities.

Ironically, from reports by those who have visited his own “house church,” he is the sole leader (the unnamed “pastor”).

Wright’s social media posts are filled with arrogance and self-importance, exalting the virtues of confessing sins publicly (something he has yet to do himself), the need for good fathers in our world (something he has failed to do himself), the virtues of marriage (which he failed as his ex-wife divorced him for abuse), attacking “progressives” and “liberals” with harsh and haughty vitriol, the need for repentance and purity (something he has failed to live out himself).

Keep reading and you’ll see Wright’s long history of abuse, excommunications, arrogance, moral failure, and hypocrisy.

Here are the facts you need to know:

*Wright has been divorced by his ex-wife for abuse, emotional and spiritual.

*He was reprimanded by a judge to stop defaming his ex-wife online by a court order. This is in the divorce papers uncovered by CrossRoadJunctionWatch. This is why he no longer defames his ex-wife, which he used to do constantly. (One document proving he is divorced is online.)

*For many years, he has been estranged from his adult daughters for abuse, emotional and spiritual. They still suffer trauma from his abuse.

*He has been observed to use pornography by people who are close to him. This likely explains his obsession with sex. (The sin of porn is the spiritual equivalent of sex sin/abuse according to Matthew 5:28.)

*Yet he calls himself an “elder” when he is biblically disqualified according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. (As CrossRoadJunctionWatch has revealed, it is astounding that a man of Wright’s scandalous personal history of divorce and estranged children would have the audacity to be casting stones at other people, and doing so with debunked accusations.)

*Wright has also been excommunicated four times, yet he has never repented to the people he’s lied about or abused.

*Accusing people falsely of sex abuse hurts real victims. Since Wright appears clearly motivated by injuring people he doesn’t like. It doesn’t matter to him that real victims are injured by his horrendous behavior.

*Wright falsely claims to be a sex abuse advocate, yet he himself is a known abuser. He has no board, no oversight, he is the only person in his alleged organization. He answers to no one.

*Wright has been banned from over 10 Facebook groups since 2013. His Facebook pages have been shut down by the Facebook abuse team four times.

If you are someone who has come across Wright’s slanderous remarks, go to the people directly who he is accusing (Proverbs 18:13 and Proverbs 18:17, New Living Translation, Matthew 7:12).

After Facebook removed Wright’s OrganicSower Facebook page because of consistently spreading defamation against the same group of people relentlessly (which indicates a pathological obsession), Wright created another Facebook page which serves as a deceptive front for spreading his slanderous allegations.

The new Facebook page is called “Plumbline Faith” and it uses the symbol below, falsely marketing itself as “simple faith, simple virtue, and simple church.”

Wright has purchased the followers and likes, most of which are from foreign countries and not real people. Few of the real people who liked this page know who Wright is or his history of abuse and excommunications.

Wright touts himself to be an expert in “simple church” and “organic church.” Despite that Wright has little personal experience in simple church and was excommunicated by over 30 leaders of the simple/organic church movement, Wright’s method is to post innocuous statements about faith and politics on his Facebook page, then he posts his lies and slanderous attacks against the people he hates.

The Facebook abuse team has been monitoring Wright’s activities on social media. His personal Facebook page has been shut down over four times for defamation, harassment, and abuse.

The many victims of Wright’s lies and abuse have not been silent. In 2013, they bravely exposed his sins against them and others, most of whom he has no personal relationship with and has never met. Yet to date, he continues smearing people he doesn’t know but who he has been offended by with lies.

Wright’s victims have spoken out and their names appear in the warning/excommunication document on this page signed by over 30 respected Christian leaders.

Wright has been banned from more than 10 Facebook page groups for his unrepentant pattern of emotional abuse, bullying, fabricating false and absurd allegations against people he doesn’t know, and verbal assault.

This site contains facts, quotes, and testimonies by the many victims of Wright’s abuse who have stood strong against his atrocious tactics, including links to genuine sex abuse advocates who have exposed Wright’s deceitful impersonation to be an advocate himself.

A letter signed by over 35 Christian leaders exposing the gross sins of Jim Wright and urging Christians to not listen to, follow, or friend him online was published after numerous attempts to urge Wright to repent. (The letter is linked at the bottom and contains direct responses to Wright’s outrageous accusations against well-respected leaders in the body of Christ.)

This website will come down when Jim Wright removes his slanderous articles and so will the associated links at the bottom with responses to all of Wright’s smears, lies, and fabrications. 

Here is an excerpt from the “Warning Against Jim Wright” signed by over 35 Christian leaders in 2013. He has yet to repent for his constant abuse.

“Jesus also commanded His followers to break fellowship with a person if they will not repent, but instead, insist on hurting others (v. 17).

While Matthew 18 applies to a local situation, the principles that Jesus outlines in that text apply to matters that are more universal in scope.

Many of us have been correcting Jim Wright’s misrepresentations, distortions, and slanderous remarks for well over a year now. Mr. Wright has had many opportunities to receive our correction and to repent. But he has instead chosen to continue to slander and malign members of the body of Christ.

This is not a letter that any of us wished to write. However, seeing that Jim Wright has caused so much harm to the body of Christ, to our friends and to their families, we feel compelled before God to warn all followers of Jesus as Scripture states.

In Titus 3:10, Paul says,

“Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.”

In 1 Corinthians 5:11, Paul wrote,

But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

In the same spirit, Paul exhorts in Romans 16:17,

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.“

Of course, “the doctrine we have learned” is love. And love always thinks the best of others and treats them the same way we wish to be treated in every situation (Matthew 7:12, also see 1 John).

Jim Wright’s History of Slandering Others & Employment of Unethical Methods

This dubious and dishonorable tactic of character assassination has been Jim Wright’s pattern with others. For instance:

* In the last church that Jim Wright was a part of, he spread slander against his pastor and staff after his attempts at getting into the church leadership were rejected. The church excommunicated Wright for the sin of slander and causing division.

* Previous to that incident, Wright was part of another church where he spread outright lies and distortions about the staff after his attempts at getting into the leadership there were also refused. Two of us spoke to these pastors and heard their sad stories. One of them said, “Jim Wright has caused a lot of trouble for some of the pastors in our community. He distorts and exaggerates.”

* There are other incidences that hit much closer to home with respect to Wright’s personal life involving his divorce, etc. Details can be found at CrossroadJunctionWatch in an article called “Jim Wright, Elder?”.

[One example: According to one researcher, Jim Wright’s sin is all the more serious and hypocritical because Wright’s wife divorced him due to psychological and emotional abuse. Wright slandered his ex-wife publicly and was reprimanded by a judge to cease and desist. The court conflicts between Jim Wright’s ex-wife and him are still ongoing at the time of his article.]

* In 2012, Wright made a big deal on his blog and Facebook page about a church “scandal.” He claimed that 6 staff members were involved in a sex scandal and that it was a “huge” case, one of the largest of its kind. This was a huge distortion of the facts. It wasn’t even a sex scandal but an employment discrimination case.

* Wright is accountable to no one.

* Since 2012, Wright has been banned from 10 Christian Facebook groups for harassing, bullying, abusing, misrepresenting, and maligning other Christians with false accusations.

* According to research, Jim Wright created fake Facebook accounts and used them to join the Facebook groups from which he has been banned: namely, Joe Ashton and Adam Bartmann.

* Wright has been misrepresenting Christian authors Jon Zens, Frank Viola, Milt Rodriguez, Felicity Dale, Hal Miller, Bart Breen, Keith Giles, Ken Eastburn, Rick Warren, and Christopher Kirk making outrageous and false allegations against each of them because he was offended by their theological views and because they didn’t give him the kind of attention he desperately sought in the communities they have influenced.

The Scripture is clear that slander is just as serious as a sin as the other works of the flesh listed in the New Testament (murder, adultery, etc.) – all of which bar one from inheriting the kingdom of God if not repented of (see Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). 

Also, to spread slander or provide a venue for it is to participate in this sin.

In the Spirit of Jesus Christ, therefore, we beseech all of God’s people to not give Jim Wright an audience for his persistent lies against members of the body of Christ. Many people have defriended him from Facebook because they are tired of being poisoned by his slander against others.

Until Jim Wright repents and willingly removes his slanderous blog posts and websites, we will leave this warning up. We also will not give him an ear to his slander nor will we engage him. We encourage you to do the same as Scripture instructs:

“Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.” Titus 3:10

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. Witness statement by a Facebook moderator:

For the past two years, I witnessed Jim Wright viciously bite and attempt to devour the body of Christ through his blog and in every Facebook group where he was a member. His words are cutting, divisive, deliberate, demeaning and slanderous, also destructive to the peace and rest of the saints in Christ. I have been shocked by his outright hatred of the saints and his arrogant pride with which he lifts himself up by trampling down others.

Jim Wright’s caustic behavior made me shutter, so whenever a group allowed him to join, I would promptly choose to leave those groups. I also defriended him on Facebook. However, from time to time, I would check on his activities. I noticed that his hatred and slanderous public statements about some dear brothers and sisters in Christ was rapidly increasing into an extreme and serious state. Due to what I witnessed online by Mr. Wright I became greatly concerned for the body of Christ, and this is when I decided to rejoin a group to better watch his activities among the saints online …

Eventually, the slanderous attacks and outright abuse of the saints escalated far out of control, and that is when I finally witnessed that more people in the body of Christ began to rebuke and reprove Jim Wright, also Keith and Jeanne Smith. It is with a deep sigh of relief that I now see that the body has fully come together to expose these Cyber-bullies of the saints. Thus, it is my great pleasure to sign this letter in hope to protect others from Jim and his cronies. May this public sin be stopped by all the saints uniting and standing together, by the power of Christ in us, to the glory of our Father and His beloved Son who lives in us. Father’s pleasure be done!

As he has done before in the past, Jim Wright has changed his site and organization names to make it harder for unsuspecting people to discover the past that discredits and embarrasses him.

He has joined X (formerly Twitter) to appear legitimate and reply to people he doesn’t know and has never met. Currently, his X page claims he is an “elder,” but he is disqualified by the biblical standards as has already been proven.

Keith Smith Suddenly Died

Keith Smith – the man who supported Jim Wright in his smear campaigns against others and was used by Jim Wright with no evidence of due diligence or personal integrity – suddenly died in February of 2018.

One would think his death would awaken Wright to God’s judgement on the sins he has been committing causing him to repent, but thus far, that has not happened.

Keith Smith confessed publicly, after repeatedly being confronted about and lying repeatedly, that he was an academic fraud. He claimed multiple PhDs and was unable to prove he had anything more than a partial undergraduate record. He had a long and sordid history as a religious con-artist and grifter.

So Far Nothing has Changed with Jim Wright

Wright has lost all credibility in the Christian world, except for a small number of people, most of whom who don’t know his character or past history of abuse, bullying, personal issues, and intentionally spreading smears against leaders he doesn’t like.

To hide his intentions, Wright will sometimes report on genuine cases of abuse alongside of his smear campaigns against people whom he’s intentionally lying about.

Wright’s initial smear campaign against a group of leaders – some of who were once (not presently) associated with the “house church movement” – began in 2012. All of those attacks have been fully debunked during that time.

Despite this, Wright is still attacking these same people, hoping that some who are ignorant of the disturbing issues in his own personal life and dishonest history will give him a listening ear.

It is astounding that a man of Wright’s scandalous personal history of divorce and estranged children would have the audacity to be casting stones at other people.

Be Warned, Jim Wright has a Long, Ugly History

I’m writing today to issue this update to warn you that:

(1) Jim Wright has yet to repent of his lies and deliberate defamation of leaders he doesn’t know or has ever met but who he’s taken personal offense with. (See my response to his absurd lies about me after exposing him and his history of abuse.)

(2) If you are Facebook friends with Jim Wright, you should unfriend him immediately because friending him only empowers him to continue in his sin and you are actually participating in that sin through your support. This is why the Bible teaches that no follower of Jesus should associate with people who commit the sin of slander and do not repent.  Wright currently uses a Facebook Page that he renamed after his Crossroad Junction Page was closed by Facebook for multiple community guideline violations. He’s repeated past patterns and created the illusion of a vast following despite very little actual interaction.
